On Saturday December 8th a liar patient came to the clinic. She is married with this idiot guy who believed what she told him. Doc Epstein did a sonogram on her and she ended up having 17 weeks pregnant after she told the clerk on the phone she was 10 weeks pregnant. After 12 weeks the price goes up. Under 12 weeks the fees is $400 dollars. Between 13 to 16 weeks is $650. This patient was 17 weeks pregnant so we charged her $900 dollars because is more work, more anesthesia, more supplies, more everything.
When the clerk told her the price her husband was on shock. He was asking why so much money if she had an early pregnancy and the belly didn't look big at all, (she was very skinny and short) probably that was why. The sonogram is never wrong. So they started to argued in the waiting room. Eventually that baby wasn't his because they were not together at that time. She was with another guy but she wanted him to pay for it.
It was so scary that we had to call the police on him. They arrested him because he was screaming and other patients started to freak out and just leave the clinic. We didn't give him any information about her because that is the patient privacy. Finally she had to pay for it with her credit card. I love my job because even though is scary sometimes, it is also fun. :)

First Week at My Lovely Job.
Hello people:
I remember the first week at my job very well. It was a really busy day and I didn't know what to do. The doc asked me to go inside the operating room with him for the first time so could I help him. The first case of the day was a 11 weeks pregnant girl. She was only 14 years old. I told him that I wasn't ready to go in. Then the other MA told me that I have to be strong if I wanted to keep this job. So fine, the next case he didn't even bother asking me. I went straight in. The room was very stinky because it was a two days procedure. A two day procedure is when the patient is more than 15 weeks.
The first day of the procedure, he put something call Laminaria, which tents have been used to aid inductions of labor for over one hundred years. So then they go home and come back the following morning. The following day when the doctor is taking the lam out, really bad. I remember that I had to go outside the room twice to get some fresh air before I faint.
After the doc started the procedure, he told me to put him the sonogram so he could see what he was doing. I put him the sonogram but the fetus didn't want to come out and he had to use many instruments to cut them apart. The patient began to screen and I got more nervous. The other thing it happened was that there were two fetus, two heads, four legs. When I saw those parts, I had to leave the room one more time. It was so traumatic.
When the doctor did the sonogram to see how many weeks she was the first day, he did not see there were two. I don't understand how come a girl can perform an termination after they feel their babies moving. I am not an anti-abortion person, I believe in abortion but I don't think that a girl should wait that long to get it done. The excuses that they use is that they didn't know they were pregnant, or that the baby father cheated on them. I don't agree with the government in this particular part.

Physician Assistant Career.

I'm planning on doing the P.A program when I finish paying my loans from my Associates and Bachelors. I don't think it would be a good idea to go straight for my Master having so much debts :-/. I really like the medical field and doing two more years of school is not going to hurt me much after I did four. I don't have any obstacle (besides money lol) which can stop me on doing it.
To be honest with you, I don't even know why did I did my Bachelors on Health Service Administration. I like dealing with patients directly. I'm really good at it. I love helping people, but not sitting in an office just doing paper work. When I finished with my Associates I went straight for my Bachelors and maybe that was why I did it. I didn't have nobody to conduce me in the P.A program and also I didn't look for help either.
My boss always tells me to do the nurse program because he doesn't want me to quick this medical assistant position. He loves me in other words :-). For some reason I don't like the nurse career and I've never been interested on it. A friend was telling me about Hunter College. They offer a good P.A program in there so I'm going to consider a cuny school. They take forever to accept you but oh well, I'm not in a rush. I just hope that after I fnish my Bachelors next semester I could get a good job, I know I would because I have two years of experience working in the medical field.

Way To Promote My Blog
Hello people
I've never liked having social newtwork pages because I don't think there is a need for other people to know what is happening with my life or what I'm currently doing. I really don't have time for that. I don't have facebook, no twitter or youtube so I heard that a good way to promote a new page is by promoting it in other pages such as those that I just mentioned. I will create a facebook page and twitter also and ask all my friends to add me so their friend could see my page and like that it could get popular hopefully.

Wrong anesthesia
The doc that I work has a lot of experience. He had been performing abortion since 1979. However there's something that I don't agree with. He doesn't gives propofol anesthesia while he's performing the termination. ( Propofol is a drug that reduces anxiety and tension, and promotes relaxation and sleep or loss of consciousness. Propofol provides loss of awareness for short diagnostic tests and surgical procedures, sleep at the beginning of surgery, and supplements other types of general anesthetics). He uses a contracedation called midazolam mix it with fentanyl. It makes the patient drowsy and sometimes 5 minutes later they forget everything. In other words, he is scared if the patient won't wake up again. This is a good method but the patient go throw so much pain because even though they are awake during the procedure. For instance like feeling the speculum while he's putting it and also they feel all the instruments down there.
I feel like if he would of used propofol since the beginning of his career, even though he would of had to pay an anesthetist, he would of had more patients than what he has now. Most of the patients come back because they get pregnant once again so they already know him. On the other hand, some people don't like general anesthesia and that's why they come back to him but others leave the office very mad and pretty I'm sure that if they get pregnant in the future one more time they won't come back.

Interview Luminaries
Hello audience:
I started working in this clinic two years ago when I got my degree on Medical Assistant. I had never imagine working for an abortion provider so it was very hard for me at the beginning. I come from a family that don't believe in abortion so that was another issue for me as well. The doctor delivered babies for 17 years at Lincoln Hospital so I wanted to know why did he change to an abortion provider so I decided to ask him. His answer was this " I come from a country where abortion is not legal (Argentina) and over there I used to work as a GYN doctor at the emergency room. I used to see many woman coming to the ER bleeding because they drank something to loose the fetus or even put spoons inside to terminate the pregnancy themselves. That was the reason why i became an abortion provider in the USA, to help women with their decisions because is their choice, their body. He took some state exams and passed them so he got his license right away. That really touched my heart and even though my family don't agree with my job, I'm very proud of it 😁😃

Hurricane Sandy
Te hurricane Sandy totally damaged the abortion clinic. It's located in downtown Brooklyn and its near the beach. The doctor sent me a text saying "the office is completely damaged". I didn't believe him much because he's very dramatic. Then my co-worker sent me pictures of it and I went insane. I just though about all the compromises that I have because I'm an independent lady. I immediately upgraded my résumé and started looking for jobs and asking my sister to help me searching.
Fortunately, the Doc has another office which is located in Queens so he placed me there four days while he rebuilt the Brooklyn one. On the other hand, in that moment I realized how important is to have an education. I've always been very focused in school but now I'm more. The world is taught and is not easy to find good jobs now a days.
